Archivist Safety Matches: Cowgirl

There’s a confidence to this design that comes through immediately—bold, direct, and a little defiant. Set against a saturated red backdrop, the cowgirl illustration stands front and centre, hands on hips, framed by typography that leans into classic Western phrasing with a knowing twist. “I’m a match for anybody” reads less like a slogan and more like attitude—graphic, self-assured, and slightly tongue-in-cheek.

The square format keeps things grounded, allowing the artwork to do the work without distraction. Inside, 125 matchsticks ensure it remains firmly rooted in function, ready for everyday use while holding its place as a visual accent. It’s the kind of object that adds a bit of personality to a surface—practical, but with a clear point of view.
